Welcome Dr. Jingsheng Xu, an associate professor in Fujian Agriculture and Forest University to take his one-year sabbatical leave in Dr. Wang’s lab. Dr. Xu is an expert in sugarcane viral diseases.

Dr. Wang was invited to give a seminar entitled “Exploring specialized and ordinary chromosome regions in complex crop genomes” in China Agricultural University. She was also invited to visit Fujian Agricultural and Forest University to initiate a collaborative program.

Jeffery Seib, our lab manager with extensive molecular biological skills, who set up Wang’s lab, retired today after his over 25-year employment in UF. Hope he will start his fabulous second career and get closer to his family.

Dr. Wang starts as an Assistant Professor housed in the Agronomy Department at University of Florida to consolidate the existing strengths of crop improvement in the Genetics Program Area in the department by adding the translational genomics expertise. Her new lab space is located in room 340, Cancer & Genetics Research Complex. Her lab members include Jefferry Seib, a senior biological scientist, working half time in the lab, and Bhuvan Pathak, an OPS employee, who recently received her M.S degree in UF Agronomy Department advised by Dr. Maria Gallo.
